My Job

My job is really one big community. I work at the college in the Student Activities Office. In our office, there are different sections to work in, Executive Council, Programs Board, and Office Assistants. Even though we are all split up into seperate groups, we all work together to produce events, and many other things. We are all brought together by the same office. However, we are all much closer to each other than just co-workers.

We all wake up, go to classes, go to work, and go home. We all have in common that we go to the same school, and we have the same office and boss. We are a community that makes things happen, and a community that works great together.

I think that I fit into this community well. Most of the people in my community are a lot like me, and we get along well. Everybody has different ideas, heritages, and beliefs, but we all respect each others independence. We work together and get things done, and also we add some fun into our work so that we can get to know each other better and spend more time together.

What's in my Purse?

If I were to lose my purse and someone were to find it, they wouldn’t find much. They might find a day planner, which could tell them what plans I had. Or they could sift through my wallet to find a ton of grocery cards, shopping cards, and credit cards. They would find my drivers license with a picture that makes me look 50 pounds heavier than I am. They would find my cell phone, my car keys, and “love spell”, my favorite lotion from Victoria’s Secret. They would come across lip gloss and sunglasses and maybe some candy.
Someone who would find my purse could find out a little bit about me, but they wouldn’t find out much that would distinguish me from the next girl’s purse. Just from looking in my purse, they wouldn’t know the things that you would have to meet me to know. They wouldn’t know that I go golfing almost every weekend. They wouldn’t know that my favorite season is summer, or that no matter what the weather you will almost always catch me wearing my old navy flip-flops. They wouldn’t know that I am engaged to my boyfriend of three years. Or that I am studying to be a graphic designer. They wouldn’t know that I love country music, or that my favorite thing to do on a sunny day is to take my puppy on a really long walk.
I don’t think that you can find out to much about a person from the contents of their purse or wallet. You can find all the cards and objects you can find in just about anyone’s wallet, but they wouldn’t tell you much. What makes each person individual, what makes you have an identity is your personality, your values, the things you do, the people who love you, your likes and dislikes, your feelings, and your history. The possessions you carry around to get through your day are not original, they are not you.
